What Is Gws_rd=cr in Google.com URL?

Does anyone noticed https://www.google.ae/?gws_rd=cr in google.com url? I recently noticed that each time i try to access google in chrome, it automatically appends some parameter. It was so weird to me at first and i thought it some kind of spam.




So What Is gws_rd=cr in Google.com URL?

gws = google web server
rd = redirect
cr = country

Google is constantly trying to seek out better ways to strengthen its tracking, Google doesn’t tell why the redirection URL was introduced.

-If you are on Google Chrome browser,

-Access your browser setting by clicking on the Options icon located at the top right corner of your browser. Now you can choose Settings in the dropdown options. When you are on Settings page, go straight to Appearances and select Change next to the previously set Search Engine URL

-Having selected Change, then you can now add ncr after the forward slash at the back of URL. It will then look like: http://www.google.com/ncr
You can now click OK

Google is Going to Break Promise by Testing Banner Ads in Search Result

It was a promise by Google that there will no banner asd in Google we search results page. This promise was done by Googles former VP os Search Products & User Experience Marissa Mayer. She's now the CEO of Yahoo, so no wonder in breaking the promise.

Google has confirmed to Search Engine Land it is running an experiment with banners.

How to get rid of this New “Log or Referral Spam”?

Last week I had a discussion with friend regarding on some suspect full visits from different countries to his site. And we decided to filter that country from Analytics. But I think the problem is not yet solved.

Today I was checking my analytics and found a drastic difference in the bounce rate as well as visits. These visits are coming from “www.seoanalyses.com” and the visits are coming from different countries like Homyel, Gatchina, Odesa etc. Referrer spam also known as log spam or referrer bombing.

 I think “seoanalyses” is referring spam for two reasons.

• ·         To get visit to their site from the people who are being spammed.
• ·         If anyone has their server/website access logs public they may actually receive an indexed backlink.

This benefits the spammer because of the free link, which gives the spammer's site improved search engine ranking due to link-counting algorithms that search engines use.

We can’t stay without doing anything, coz if you check your analytics you can see that the bounce rate is 100% for these visits. And we are all aware that Google thinks a site with high bounce rate is a bad site.

I have a solution for this and I’m going to try this now,

Use htacess and block their visits

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} (seoanalyses) [NC]

    RewriteRule .* - [F]

Please do not visit this site if you see this in Google Analytics.

Watch out WEBSPAM I’m Coming for You

  Check out your current Keyword position or you website ranking in Google and if you see its suddenly went down, do not get shocked. Google has updated Penguin 2.1 this October second. I got shocked when some of my pages went down from first page, and i was digging what my competitors did. I could see that, they also went somewhere in other pages.

In the previous update, Penguin was only looked at the home page. And in the new generation Penguin going to look deeper in some areas and the impact is going to be much bigger.

Copy/Paste - A New Feature in Google Adwords

Google announced the new Copy/Paste feature with in Google Adwords interface. Adwords becomes more cool with this feature as we were not able to use this so far and were using the tool Adwords Editor to edit and build out campaigns and ad groups. We can copy keywords, ads, ad groups or entire campaigns like we do in Adwords Editor.

How to use it:

1) Select the items you want to copy
2) Click the Edit drop down button and select Copy (or hit Ctrl-C/Cmnd-C).
3) Navigate to where you want to paste
4) Click the Edit drop down and select Paste (or hit Ctrl-V/Cmnd-V).

Google Web Designer - HTML5 Animated Ads in Minutes!!!

Yesterday Google announced a visual tool for building interactive html5 sites and Ads. Now get rid of annoying, blinking flash ads on the web with html5 Ads. The best part is, this is gonna be working in a universal platform. Flash doesnt, probably won't ever, run on ios. Google is trying to take your Ads everywhere and I guess this is a competition between paid Ad-building tool such as Adobe Edge. Hummingbird - Google's New Search Algorithm

Wondering why the name Hummingbird? Google says the name come from being "precise and fast". Google started using Hummingbird a month ago but announced the change on September 26th. If anyone is curious about your less traffic in this month, this change could be a reason.Google has last updated its algorithm like this perhaps on 2001.

Do not get confused with Panda and Penguin updates, those were the changes to parts of the old algorithm. Hummingbird is a brand new search algorithm, though it continues to use some of the same parts of the old, like Penguin and Panda. "In general, Hummingbird — Google says — is a new engine built on both existing and new parts, organized in a way to especially serve the search demands of today, rather than one created for the needs of ten years ago, with the technologies back then" said Danny Sullivan in SearchEngine Land.

Hummingbird aims to help Google to understand conversational or voice search. The goal is that pages matching the meaning do better, rather than pages matching just a few words. Google says there is nothing new SEO's or publishers need to worry about and SEO is not yet dead since it have original and quality content.

How to Optimize a Single Page Website?

I was assigned with a website to optimize, with only one page. I did a groovy dance, yipee...only one page to optimize. But that happiness lasted only for one day, next day my reaction was "WHY THIS TO ME?"

Yes guys, it is a single page to optimize but that is a high-handed decision to not have any pages on the website by the whoever owner. A good part of optimization strategy for your website will be about giving good content to a crawler to index each time it visits.
The parallax approach to the design should be flawless otherwise which itself is a no-no from search engine optimization perspective. The page should flow forward automatically when the user reaches the end of one visible spectrum.

Okay lets move to the optimization part,
Keywords - choose two or three(maximum) keywords.
Metas - As we can have only one meta title and description make it as much as descriptive and brief. This is the door to the potential customers.
URL - Optimize url with the main keyword. There is much option for this as you have only one distinct page.
Content - Focus more on content, Content is the ruler here, make good contents by thinking that you have limitations.

This is all great but the best way to optimize a single webpage is high quality link building. You will need more quality referrers than your competitors. If anyone is supposed to build a single page website, don't put tons of texts, image, videos, etc etc.. as Google hates heavy pages. Anyways you are gonna give lot of SEO issues with one page design, so try to make it less.

PS: The single webpage I got to optimize, started ranking, started dancing and its gonna last for more time.

Learn to Create A Dangerous Virus in less than 60 SEC

O’course you should care about Rich Snippets. Rich Snippets are few lines of text that summarizes the content of the webpage that makes easier for a user to understand what the page is about. But this got a high effect in click through rate and resulting a high ranking.

For example, I searched for chocolate brownie (my favorite) and I got the result like the following two, which one draws more attention from you? Of course the first one with a yummy picture, good rating and votes will get the click (from my side it’s for sure)…

 

This is why I said Rich Snippets are important to add into your site.

 The example I have mentioned above is for recipe Rich Snippet.

How to Implement Rich Snippets
Implementation of Rich Snippets is quite easy, you just need to add some additional data tags to your HTML. Presently there are 3 types of mark ups

• Microdata
• Microformat
• RDFa

You can use any of them, but Schema.org recommends Microdata — it has the support of Bing, Yahoo, and Google.

Schema.org has plenty of good examples and directions on implementation, and Google is not far behind on tools and documentation either in its Webmaster Tools Help pages. You can also find more guidelines from Google here.
